You are invited to participate in Career Day at East Hartford Middle School on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. This special day is designed to expose our eighth grade students to a variety of career options they may one day want to consider. Directions to the middle school are printed on the reverse side of this letter.
We begin the day with light refreshments at 7:30 a.m. in the Upper Media Center. Our opening session is from 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. in the Auditorium. You will then go on two, 25-minute rotations to different classrooms with 20-25 students in each room. Student ambassadors will be on hand to escort you throughout the entire morning.
The purpose of your involvement in this event is to showcase your career to our students. As you prepare to face the curiosity of our eighth graders, we suggest these topics of discussion:
If a uniform or dress code is part of your career, please wear the apparel that day. Handouts or promotional material are encouraged; a quantity of 100 would be sufficient. Let us know if you need visual equipment as part of your presentation.
If you would like to join us, please contact me on my cell phone at (860) 798-6401 or the Assistant Principal, Spencer Clapp at (860) 622-5630. This call is necessary because we are creating a schedule of guest speakers with you as an important part of the day.
Thank you for volunteering your time to share your story with our students. We look forward to your involvement in Career Day and hope that you are too! |
